I agree that when there is a way to accommodate sensitivity that it is wisdom to do so. Eg, if you are strongly affected by caffiene, make weak coffee! That is smart. But when sensitivity is bringing information we need for intercession, we do not want to "cope" with the inconvenience; we want to learn from the sensory input so we can pray more effectively.
I am with you in awe at the variety God inspires with just eight little musical notes! And in the multitude of expressions of the grace He gives us new every morning.Carol Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12485596162941272513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9059228098507203449.post-21104659353351240702012-08-01T11:16:48.066-07:002012-08-01T11:16:48.066-07:00This is a great topic, Carol, especially since mos...This is a great topic, Carol, especially since most consider it a weakness to be highly sensitive instead of a strength. However, I have personally found that our greatest strength can also be our greatest weakness if we let that attribute become "larger than life." For example, having wrestled with most of those things mentioned on the self-test, there are some I have definitely set out to conquer, since (for me) I felt allowing them to rule would not be fruitful.

As with most gifts, though, staying in touch with Jesus, so that one can know exactly how He wants them to use their gifts, seems to be the key. And how often we discover our "missions" have been specifically designed to fit our own individual personalities. One gift, same Giver, that can be used many different ways by various receivers. Quite exciting, actually. Sort of like songwriting. Hard to believe only eight little notes make up all our music. God's ways are so interesting!Lilly Maytreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17749276313502544046noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9059228098507203449.post-16857429710159537912012-07-30T10:41:15.372-07:002012-07-30T10:41:15.372-07:00It is undoubtedly your sensitivity that makes you ...It is undoubtedly your sensitivity that makes you such an effective teacher. You are able to sense what the child struggles with even when he is unable to put his problem into words. All my senses are hypervigilant and I can hear people's conversations and inhale their colognes two tennis courts down from where I'm playing.
